Sun soaked winter notes
A discount on my Seasonal Harvest prints, new illustration, and 21 days of sketchbooking from Europe.
Good morning lovely subscribers, from a very beautiful Andalusia. I made the jump down here from Sagres, and it was such a beautiful decision! I’m so so pleased I’m here. I’m around the coastline from Roche, El Palmar, down to Barbete, it gives something different and maybe understated to the notorious surf coastlines of Portugal and Morocco that neighbour either side. It’s free spirited and warm and welcoming, and I’ve fallen straight into a lovely little life here with routine, new friends, and my favourite spots to get in the water for a dip or the local Spanish bar for a dance!
First look - Seasonal Harvest print series now live!
Of course you’re getting the release before Instagram! My series of Seasonal Harvest prints are now *live*. I had an incredible reaction to these illustrations inspired by the past year living on a small organic farm on the Cornish coast. Helping out on the farm picking out teeny slugs, weeding, harvesting, and then cooking freshly picked veggie meals with friends were some of the beautiful mindful moments of last year, and I loved being connected again to natures cycles through seasonal harvesting.
These prints serve as a creative reference with hand written labels of what is in harvest (according to the UK) in each season. They work as a series or on their own, and are available in sizes 21 x 30cm, 30 x 40cm, and 50 x 70cm starting from just £22 including shipping.
As well as a first look, I’m also sharing 10% off the Seasonal Harvest series with code - WINTERHUES (expires 1st Feb!)
Fresh additions
Together with my lovely agency Making Pictures I’ve been building out my portfolio within both illustration and motion. I’ve added some more nature pieces and more food too, both of which I love to add in that signature feeling of organic flow. I’ve now separated my website into illustration/ motion/ murals to make it easier to find relevant examples for your potential project, and with current availability, there is no better time to get in touch to discuss your ideas.
21/365 days in my sketchbook
One of my more physical targets for 2024 was to spend some time in my sketchbook every day. My past sketchbooks are mostly ink drawings, so as I go into this daily practice, it’s also been a chance to be more experimental with mediums, which has been both messy and fun! There’s something about embracing the mistakes of analogue, which is easy to lose when you’re used to an edit-undo (or three finger tap on my iPad).
They’re mostly all observational, lots of still lifes around the van, or my ever changing view, each one a chance to connect with my environment in a mindful and creative way, and to have this 400 page moleskin sketchbook filled with daily observations to look back on at the end of the year will be quite the reward.
I’ve been really into the coloured pencils the last 5 days, a familiar medium but also an accessible one that I can tune my flow with to the movement I love to create in my work.
I am available for new projects!
We are well into a new year, and I have space for new illustration and motion projects in February, March, and April - as well as booking mural projects for later on in the year. Projects that focus on a more sustainable lifestyle, the environment, and a connection to nature are always those most aligned, and I would love to bring authentic and meaningful illustrations to help elevate your goals.
That’s all for now, I’ll be back soon with some of my sketchbook highlights from the next few weeks here in Europe, and some more news to share. I hope you have an absolutely lovely day and thank you for being here :)
